A Study of Consumerism in Contemporary Urdu Short Story
Abstract
Consumerism is a legacy of the corporate era that has impacted not just individuals but society as a whole. The fast movement of science and technology has crushed old social values. Social values have completely changed now a days. Urdu short story has always reflected both the tradition of social values and the changes within them. The negative effects of consumerism on society have been specifically addressed in Urdu short story, aiming to inform readers about the implications of consumerism. This paper presents a study of consumer society in the works of selected contemporary Urdu short story writers۔
