Abstract

Parveen Shakir is a distinguished poet of Urdu literature who introduced diverse themes in her poetry, one of which is feminist consciousness. This consciousness is evident throughout her poetry. By incorporating this dimension into her work, she expanded the scope of Urdu literature. Parveen Shakir is regarded as one of the boldest poets of her time, who, through her poetry, represented a purely feminine voice, a captivating style, and profound thought. She eloquently depicted the helplessness of women and their issues with remarkable finesse. Her feminist voice holds a distinct identity and stature. Within her verses lies a suppressed cry of womanhood, emerging from a restless soul. She is both a delicate flower and a sharp sword, wielded in defense of women's voices. Parveen Shakir immortalized feminine emotions and sentiments by infusing her words with fragrance. Her poetry artistically expresses the fragmentation of a feminine existence, which becomes evident as a result of intense love.
